So Close - Enchanted Waltz Dance

Author: disneytalks Categories: Disney in Me, Movies, Music, Walt Disney

I’ve told you in my previous blog, that I love Enchanted so much.

Enchanted, one of Walt Disney’s movie which combines animation and real human. One of the precious scenes in Enchanted is the scene when Giselle and Robert are dancing at the ball. They want to be close together, but at the same time, they have to be far, because Giselle has to go back to Andalasia with Edward. It’s very touching, so melancholic, and I love the song.

The song So Close, is sung by Jon McLaughlin. When I heard it for the first time, I was touched by its atmosphere, and also by the farewell between Robert and Giselle. In addition, Jon McLaughlin also has a great voice, which adds the melancholic feelings to the song.

Here I enclose the lyrics of So Close, when Giselle and Robert are waltz-dancing. Enjoy…

SO CLOSE
Jon McLaughlin
(ost. Enchanted)

You’re in my arms
And all the world is calm
The music is playing on for only two
So close together
And when I’m with you
So close to feeling alone

A life goes by
Romantic dreams will stop
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
So close was waiting, waiting here with you
And now forever I know
All that I wanted to hold you
So close

So close to reaching that famous happy end
Almost believing this was not pretend
And now you’re beside me and look how far we’ve come
So far we are so close

* dance

How could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?
We’re so close
To reaching that famous happy end
And almost believing this was not pretend
Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are
So close
So close
And still so far

So This Is Love

Author: disneytalks Categories: Characters, Movies, Music, Walt Disney

When we are watching Cinderella, we can see that Cinderella is dancing with the Prince at the ball. When they are dancing, the world seems to be like theirs. The situation is very romantic of course. This is the moment where they realize that they are meant to be together. They are dancing accompanied by the song, So This is Love.

It’s very romantic, of course, accompanied by the beautiful voices from Cinderella (Illene Woods) and the Prince. I’m sure you’ll love it… ;)

Enjoy…

So This is Love
ost. Cinderella

So this is love, Mmmmmm
So this is love
So this is what makes life divine
I’m all aglow, Mmmmmm
And now I know
The key to all heaven is mine
My heart has wings, Mmmmmm
And I can fly
I’ll touch ev’ry star in the sky
So this is the miracle that I’ve been dreaming of
Mmmmmm
Mmmmmm
So this is love

The Incredibles 1.5

Author: disneytalks Categories: Movies, Walt Disney

I found on the Internet, just thinking that you will love to read it… ;) I love Incredibles!!!

Published by Jennifer Vineyard on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 1:57 pm.

'The Incredibles'It was inevitable, really — never just a movie, “The Incredibles,” what with its whole family of supers, belonged in the comic book world from the get go, and now, with Pixar’s deal with Boom Studios, they will be.

Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl (Mrs. Incredible), and their kids Violet, Dash, and baby Jack-Jack will continue their adventures in what writer Mark Waid calls “Incredibles 1.5,” a storyline that starts a little after the events of the movie, so that the family has had some time to let it sink in, but the characters are not any older. (And should there be an “Incredibles” sequel, the comic book stories won’t interfere). “This is Pixar’s tip on the Fantastic Four,” Waid said, “so while I get to play with their toys in the toybox, it can’t be so drastic that they can’t have a future.”

Which means Violet is still “delicately balanced” between being shy and having gained some confidence (“If she has too much, she’s no longer Violet”), Dash is still “thought to deed, single synapse theory,” and Jack-Jack still “can’t articulate what’s going on.” “He’s a wild card,” Waid said. “What are his powers now? You never can tell, and maybe he’d be great in a fight. But if I had a toddler that age, I wouldn’t even take him to the store, much less to fight a giant alien.”

In the first four-issue arc, starting in April, Mr. Incredible — Bob to his wife — is starting to lose his powers, his invulnerability and strength, but he doesn’t want to tell his family or go to the doctor. “You know the climax of the movie, with trying to control the giant robot? That was just their version of fighting over the TV remote,” Waid said. “You’re taking very familiar family dynamic problems and ramping up the superhero angle.”

So in this instance, when Mr. Incredible finds that his powers are fading (i.e. he’s feeling older and emasculated, every aging dad’s fear), he’s relegated to house husband status. “He feels terrible,” Waid said. “He’s calling them on the phone when they’re on missions, to give them advice, but what he really needs to do is get his powers back.” And just as there was an Edna on hand for costume problems, there will be a supers-doctor, too. “Where do you go to school to learn superhero medicine?” Waid pondered. “That’s something to think about.”

By issue four, this particular conflict will be solved – Waid’s currently writing the script for issue six, and hopes to keep the monthly comic going as long as possible (Darwyn Cooke is doing the covers, but no artist has been attached for inside art). Eventually other Pixar titles will start coming out next year as well as comics – “Toy Story” will be up next – to the point where six titles a month will eventually be in rotation. “There are people even at my office who would cut my brake lines in a heartbeat to write ‘The Incredibles,’” Waid said, “but ‘Wall-E’ would be just as fun to do. We’ve been talking to folks about writing ‘Toy Story,’ ‘Monster’s Inc.’ or whathaveyou, and when we say, ‘Dude, we’re a startup company, we can’t afford you,’ they say they don’t care. People want to write this stuff.”

What would you like to see explored in the ‘Incredibles’ comics? Should Violet go out on dates? Should Jack-Jack grow up? Who would you like to see write other Pixar comics? Let us know!

I had watched Wall-E

Author: disneytalks Categories: Disney in Me, Movies, Walt Disney

Because my grandfather has been ill since about three weeks ago, I have been very busy, go to the hospital and then go home, then go to the hospital again. Finally, couple days ago, I could take a breath for a while, because my mother told me to relax for couple hours. So I decided to watch Wall-E.

Wall-E, a robot who was programmed to clean our earth, because there is no other place on earth for human to live because their own garbage. At first, there were some Wall-Es left on the Earth, while human kind were living in a space ship. It has been happening for over 700 years, and our main character becomes the only Wall-E on the earth. He lives accompanied by a cockroach. Wall-E loves to play, (and he is also lovable), he also loves to collect things he finds while cleaning the Earth, but deep inside his heart, Wall-E is lonely.

DisneyTalks - Eve and Wall-EOne day, he meets Eve, a robot who was told to check our Earth. She was told to find any plants which can show that Earth can be the place for human to live again. Wall-E then makes friends with Eve and he also falls in love with Eve. But Eve is living on Earth to do her direction: find the plants.

Until a day Wall-E gives her a present, which then she turn out to be a plant. Eve, who has been programmed to search plant, then automatically switched off until a ship comes and takes her back to the big ship (Axiom). Wall-E, whose heart has belonged to Eve, follows the ship. Then Wall-E meets people who have been too lazy to do anything (they’re surely fat!!!) All people sits on the moving chair which has telephone (no hands), and they are served by so many robots. By bringing the plant, Eve gives the captain chance to do something in his life besides sitting on the chair, which is to bring everybody home to Earth.

Will they successfully to go back to the Earth? Just watch it by yourself. This movie, I think, is very full of moral aspects.. It teaches us about recycle things. Don’t let garbage take our place (and don’t litter in our Earth too..) And this movie is also romantic, considering the relationship between Wall-E and Eve. And it’s also funny!!! Overall, I give 9 on the scale 10. Yay Pixar! Yay Disney!!!! Thanks for giving me some time to relax by watching Wall-E! Don’t miss it, guys! Wall-e is cool… ;)

When talking about Mother, I have mentioned about this movie. I’ve told you before, that this movie shows the love between mother and her children. Now it i time for me to tell you more about it.

About the Movie (SPOILER WARNING!!!)

DisneyTalks - Baby Dumbo In a circus, every mother from all kind of animals is waiting for a baby which is delivered by a stork. A mother elephant is waiting impatiently. Every mother in the zoo has got her baby, but not Mrs. Jumbo. Lately, it is found that the stork who is assigned to deliver Mrs. Jumbo’s baby was late. Mrs. Jumbo loves her baby and this little baby is accepted by other elephants in the circus at first. But then, by the time he grows, the little elephant also has oversize growing in his ears. So other elephants call him Dumbo, because of his long ears.

That big long ears always makes Dumbo fall, because he often step on his own ears. One day, in the circus promotion parade, it happens and Dumbo lands in a puddle and everybody is laughing at him (poor Dumbo…). Mrs. Jumbo is mad because everyone is mocking Dumbo. Then it makes her be considered as mad elephant, and caged.

DisneyTalks - Dumbo in his mother's trunk (Baby Mine scene) Fortunately, in his mourn because having to live alone without his mother, Dumbo gets a new friend, a mouse name Timothy. Timothy often cheers up Dumbo during his work as clown in the circus, defending him against the other elephants, etc. Although the circus audiences love him, deep inside his heart Dumbo hates his job and really misses his mother. Timothy then brings Dumbo to visit Mrs. Jumbo in the prison. Mrs. Jumbo can only swing Dumbo in her trunk, without looking her baby boy. It was stated by Pixar’s John Lasseter that this scene is one of the most emotional scenes that Disney ever made. (I agree with him!!! I always cry when watching this scene!!) Dumbo cries in his mother’s ‘arms’ (aka trunk) while Mrs. Jumbo is singing Baby Mine (was taken from Dumbo original soundtrack) for him.

DisneyTalks - Dumbo and Timothy who always company him  Dumbo’s cries then make him hiccup. Timothy tries to cure him, by telling him to drink water from a bucket, without knowing that the clown has accidentally put a bottle of beer in it. Dumbo and Timothy are drunk. The next morning, they wake up because of the sounds from a group of crows, led by Jim Crow. They find out that they are in a tree!!! Timothy feels strange how they can be in a tree, and the crows are laughing at them and saying that perhaps Dumbo’s ears is the cause by singing "When I See an Elephant Fly". Timothy tells them about Dumbo and how he is being separated with his mom. Jim Crow feels pity for them and finally he cheers Dumbo, telling him that he is a special elephant, because his ears can make him fly. He gives a feather to Dumbo, telling him that is a magic feather. It will make Dumbo fly by holding the feather with his trunk. And yes, Dumbo is able to fly with the magic feather! Soon, Dumbo becomes a star of the circus.

dumbo05dumbo3

One day, during the show, Dumbo drops the feather. Dumbo is panic, and thinking that he will fall. But Timothy says to him that the feather is not magical, and Dumbo is really able to fly by himself. In the end,Dumbo realizes that his confidence (and God’s blessings, off course) which makes him fly. The closing is ended with the scene about Dumbo who can fly without the feather and he can meet his mother again…

FUN FACTS

  • This movie was taken from a children book entitled Dumbo by Helen Aberson and was drawn by Harold Perl.
  • The movie was made in low budget, it was only a half of Snow White. However, Dumbo becomes one of Walt Disney movies which produced big money.
  • At first, Time Magazine, one of famous magazines in US, wanted to have Dumbo as its cover. But then they considered the event when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor was more interesting than this cute elephant.
  • This movie won Best Animation Movie in Cannes Film Festival in 1947.

Hooray, Dumbo!!!

Believe in yourself, I think that is the moral lesson from Dumbo. Never gives up when something troubled you. You will always have a friend who will accompany you through all problems, like Timothy does. And for me, I know I have my best friends to be with me… :) And remember to tell your children to be Dumbo on Halloween… It’s very cute!!!
