the more limitless becomes the province of the storytelling entertainer.”

Walt Disney Quote of today

I can’t imagine life without Mickey Mouse and friends. It would be so dull and boring, no imagination at all…

Walt Disney on Mickey Mouse

“The life and ventures of Mickey Mouse have been closely bound up with my own personal and professional life.
It is understandable that I should have sentimental attachment for the little personage who played so big a part in the course of Disney Productions and has been so happily accepted as an amusing friend wherever films are shown around the world. He still speaks for me and I still speak for him.“

Walt Disney on Film & Animation

“From years of experience I have learned
what could legitimately be added to increase the thrills and delights of a fairy tale without violating the moral and meaning of the original. Audiences have confirmed this unmistakably. We define the heroines and heroes more vividly; add minor characters to help carry the story line; virtually create such immortal friends of the heroine as the Seven Dwarfs. Storywise, we sharpen the decisive triumph of good over evil with our valiant knights-the issues which represent our moral ideals. We do it in a romantic fashion, easily comprehended by children. In this respect, moving pictures are more potent than volumes of familiar words in books.”

I watch Snow White when I was little and fell in love with it…

Following my previous post about Princess and The Frog, now I want to give you the list of the characters and its dubbers… The information I got is from IMDB and Wikipedia, as well as its pictures :)

DisneyTalks.com ~ Anika Noni Rose as Princess Tiana

The first one is Anika Noni Rose. She is the voice of the newest princess from Disney Family, which is the first African American princess in Disney Princesses, Tiana. Rose defeated Jennifer Hudson and Tyra Banks to have this role. Well in the movie, Tiana is actually a 19-year-old waitress and aspiring chef who dreams of owning her own restaurant one day. Her fate changes when she meets a frog who’s asking to be kissed so he can change bank into a prince. Instead of finding a handsome prince, Tiana finds herself become a frog too.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Bruno Campos as Prince Naveen

Who is the ‘prince’ that has made Tiana into a frog? He is Prince Naveen. His voice is dubbed by Bruno Campos (we know him from Nip/Tuck the series). He is actually a prince who comes to the French Quarter for the jazz scene. Tiana and her best friend, Charlotte fall in love with him. But then he was cursed by Dr. Facilier into a frog.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Jennifer Cody as Charlotte LaBouff

Tiana’s best friend, Charlotte “Lottie” La Bouff, was voiced by Jennifer Cody. Like Tiana, Charlotte also wants to marry a prince and become a princess.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Keith David as Doctor Facilier

The evil from this movie which has cursed Prince Naveen is Doctor Facilier, which was voiced by Keith David (voice of Decepticon Barricade on Transformers the Video Game). He was originally named "Doctor Duvalier" and was a voodoo magician and fortune teller. He misled Naveen to make a deal that has transformed him into a frog (‘Green” for Dr. Facilier is frog, while for Naveen is money). As quoted from Wikipedia, Keith David described Facilier as “A schemer, a conjurer and a sorcerer of sorts.”

DisneyTalks.com ~ Jennifer Lewis as Mama Odie

Like every other princess has, Tiana also has a ‘fairy Godmother’. She is Mama Odie, which was voiced by Jennifer Lewis. Mama Odie is a 197-year-old blind woman who knows voodoo. She also has a snake as her pet, called JuJu.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Jim Cummings as Ray

The other character who also helps the frogs is Ray, a firefly who is in love with Evening Star (Venus) because he thinks it’s another firefly. Ray helps Tiana and Naveen to meet Mama Odie. Ray was voiced by Jim Cummings, who is known as the voice of Winnie The Pooh and Tiger.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis

We also cannot forget Michael-Leon Wooley as Louis, an alligator who can sing jazz and play trumpet. You won’t be afraid if you meet Louis, because his only dream is to become a human and join a jazz band. Haha…

DisneyTalks.com ~ Peter Bartlett as Lawrence

As a prince, Naveen also has a valet. He is Lawrence, who was voiced by Peter Bartlett.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Oprah Winfrey as Eudora

Tiana’s mother, Eudora, was voiced by Oprah Winfrey (who doesn’t know her…).  Angela Bassett was originally rumored to be slated for the role.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Terrence Howard as James

Tiana’s father, James, was voiced by Terrence Howard (known from his role in Iron Man). He shares dream with his daughter, to have a restaurant of their own.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Elizabeth Dampier and Breanna Brooks as young Tiana and young Charlotte

The young Tiana and Charlotte were voiced by Elizabeth Dampier and Breanna Brooks. They loved hearing the story of “The Frog Prince” from Eudora.

DisneyTalks.com ~ Don Hall as Darnell the Frog Hunter

DisneyTalks.com ~ John Goodman as Big Daddy La BouffBesides all these actors and actresses, there are still some characters which are not mentioned here, such as Don Hall as the frog hunter, Darnell; Emeril Lagasse as Marlon, an alligator, John Goodman as Big Daddy La Bouff, the richest man; etc.

Don’t forget to buy "Princess and the Frog" the soundtrack . It was composed by Randy Newman, who have won a lot of awards for his works, such as in Toy Story, Monsters Inc., etc. Or feel free to cook like Tiana, follow her recipes in the cook book . You can also play the game. See other products below!

Walt Disney on Film & Animation
“To think six years ahead-even two or three-in this business of making animated cartoon features,
it takes calculated risk and much more than blind faith in the future of theatrical motion pictures. I see motion pictures as a family-founded institution closely related to the life and labor of millions of people. Entertainment such as our business provides has become a necessity, not a luxury. Curiously, it offers us the greatest reassurance about the future in the animation field. Fantasy, when properly done in the one medium best adapted to its nature, need never go stale for the family taste.”

Author: disneytalks Categories: Characters, Latest News, Movies, Music, Walt Disney

Do you still remember my previous post about The Newest Princess from Walt Disney?

Walt Disney Animation Studios presents the musical THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, an animated comedy set in the great city of New Orleans. From the creators of “The Little Mermaid” and “Aladdin” comes a modern twist on a classic tale, featuring a beautiful girl named Tiana (ANIKA NONI ROSE), a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG marks the return to hand-drawn animation from the revered team of John Musker and Ron Clements, with music by Oscar®-winning composer Randy Newman.

It’s supposed to be played on theatres on your country now or soon… Tell us if you’ve watched it!

Walt Disney on Family

“People are always analyzing our approach to entertainment.
Some reporters have called it the ’special secret’ of Disney entertainment. Well, we like a little mystery in our films, but there’s really no secret about our approach. We’re interested in doing things that are fun-in bringing pleasure and especially laughter to people. And we have never lost our faith in family entertainment-stories that make people laugh, stories about warm and human things, stories about historic characters and events, and stories about animals.”
