So Close - Enchanted Waltz Dance

Author: disneytalks Categories: Disney in Me, Movies, Music, Walt Disney

I’ve told you in my previous blog, that I love Enchanted so much.

Enchanted, one of Walt Disney’s movie which combines animation and real human. One of the precious scenes in Enchanted is the scene when Giselle and Robert are dancing at the ball. They want to be close together, but at the same time, they have to be far, because Giselle has to go back to Andalasia with Edward. It’s very touching, so melancholic, and I love the song.

The song So Close, is sung by Jon McLaughlin. When I heard it for the first time, I was touched by its atmosphere, and also by the farewell between Robert and Giselle. In addition, Jon McLaughlin also has a great voice, which adds the melancholic feelings to the song.

Here I enclose the lyrics of So Close, when Giselle and Robert are waltz-dancing. Enjoy…

SO CLOSE
Jon McLaughlin
(ost. Enchanted)

You’re in my arms
And all the world is calm
The music is playing on for only two
So close together
And when I’m with you
So close to feeling alone

A life goes by
Romantic dreams will stop
So I bid mine goodbye and never knew
So close was waiting, waiting here with you
And now forever I know
All that I wanted to hold you
So close

So close to reaching that famous happy end
Almost believing this was not pretend
And now you’re beside me and look how far we’ve come
So far we are so close

* dance

How could I face the faceless days
If I should lose you now?
We’re so close
To reaching that famous happy end
And almost believing this was not pretend
Let’s go on dreaming for we know we are
So close
So close
And still so far

I’m Being Enchanted!!!

Author: disneytalks Categories: Disney in Me, Movies, Walt Disney

I know, I know, it’s late already… But I love this movie so much! Well, actually what kind of Walt Disney movie I don’t like? :p

But this movie has reminded me that we have to dream! This movie is one of Walt Disney movies which makes me want to share all what Walt Disney has given to me since I was a little girl. It reminds me that we have to follow our dreams, no matter how hard it is, like Walt Disney had done before he died.

Enchanted has spelled all its audience (specially women, of course) to be enchanted by its charm, its romance, and its story. All my female friends love this movie like I do. We love the songs, we love Amy Adams as Giselle, we love Pip (OMG he is so… funny!!!), we hate Narcissa (of course, who doesn’t?), we love how Giselle thinks about dreams, and we hate the mouse and the cockroach.

The one which I often talk with my co-teachers is about how disgusting it is to have mice and cockroaches as our maids! Ugh… Yikes… Can’t imagine how gross it would be… The next one is Giselle’s way of calling her friends (Aaaaa…) We often copy the way she sings to be laughed at… And we also often sing I’ve been Dreaming of a True Love’s Kiss like Pip does when he tries to speak to Prince Edward.

The other thing that I concern from this movie is what Queen Narcissa means by saying, "to the place where there will be no happiness". And guess where she send Giselle? Our world (New York)!!! Well, according to this movie, there is no happiness in New York. No one cares about each other. It is rare to find someone who wants to help other people…

Come on, guys, aren’t we all ashamed that we cannot live well? This movie made me realize that we should not think about works all the time, but we have to enjoy our life, find our true love (get our true love’s kiss!). Keep in faith to what we have to believe in, and try to get it!

Have you found your true love? I hope so… ;)

Below is the clip from the original web of Enchanted. It is when Pip is miming Giselle, trying to tell Prince Edward about Nathaniel’s evil plan. This is my favorite part of the movie. so, enjoy…

[Recommended CD] Disney Greatest Love Songs

Disney Greatest Love Songs Cover CD

Being born from musician family, I love hearing music. But not like another members of my family, I hate jazz. Since my childhood, I have listened to Disney music. I started to listen Disney songs since I could play a cassette on the stereo. And my grandfather had a collection of vinyl records which contained of Disney songs I like, such as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with its Someday My Prince Will Come or Heigh Ho, It’s Off To Play We Go, Davy Crocket theme song, Mickey Mouse Club theme song, etc. I also like the movie and the song from Robin Hood with its Love Song. Talking about Robin Hood, I’d like to show you some cute figurines I like… I found it when browsing :) It shows the characters as dolls, such as Robin Hood itself, Maid Marian, Little John, Sir Hiss, Prince John, and Lady Kluck.I’ve found a Winnie the Pooh figurine which dressed as Robin Hood!! It’s very cute!!

Now, years later, Walt Disney Records reproduced an album which contains songs from old movies until the newest movies, Enchanted (which is also available in Blu-ray format). There are so many songs I like in this album. I strongly recommend this album. It was published in CD, 2 CDs in one package. You will find some of songs I’ve mentioned above. And I also want to make a tribute for Enchanted song in this album, True Love’s Kiss. I will discuss about Enchanted later. (Oh my God, I love this movie!!!)
