Today, June 15, is when we are celebrating Father’s Day. Walt Disney himself was a great father for his daughters. Once, he went to his daughter’s teacher to complain about how many homework his daughters should do at home, so he couldn’t spend time with them. Wow… What a great father!
There are so many characters in Walt Disney Production which show the relationship between father and son or father and daughter. The first one I would like to tell is Gepetto and Pinocchio
.
Gepetto dreams a son. He is a toy maker. So he made a boy puppet, and wish he would become alive. He wishes upon a star and at the night, the blue fairy comes and makes her dream comes true. There are so many difficulties they have to face before Pinocchio becomes a real boy, but they show how big a father could love his son, although he is not his real son. They are helped by their friends
, Jiminy Cricket and Figaro the Cat
Next, I will show the relationship between Mufasa and Simba
in Lion King. Since the beginning of the movie, we can see that Simba has a great relationship with his father, Mufasa. Mufasa would do anything to please his son. When Mufasa’s brother, Scar, tries to steal his throne by tricking Simba, Mufasa has to give his life to save Simba… (I cried a lot when I saw this movie for the first time, and now I still cry every time I watch…) Even when finally Simba leaves his home and meets Timon and Pumba, the one who makes him realize that he has to take back his throne is Mufasa. What a great movie!
In Finding Nemo, we can see how hard Marlin tries to find his lost son, Nemo
. from this movie, I can learn that a father would do anything to protect his children. Marlin is too scared that Nemo would hurt because Nemo is the only one he got after he lost his wife and children. He doesn’t realize that sometimes his son needs to be trusted to do all things by himself.
In Disney Channel Movie, we can see the wonderful father-daughter relationship in Hannah Montana
the series. Miley Stewart is really close with his father, Billy Ray Stewart (in the movie and in the real life). The one which i love very much is when Billy Ray hurts his back when working out in Jackson’s ‘rubber machine’ and he doesn’t allow Miley (or Hannah) to go by herself. Miley refuses to obey her father’s rule and goes with Roxy. There Billy Ray states that there is no father will be happy to see his daughters go. He sings for Miley, and then let her go by herself. The title is Ready, Set, Don’t Go
(I put the song below…)
There are still so many characters in Disney Production which show about the relationship between father and children.
In the end, I say, Happy Father’s Day…
My father is the figure I took as a role model. I love him in all his greatness and his weakness. I love you, Father…
