Twentieth Century Fox and Walden Media will release “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” on December 10, 2010.
The move means “Narnia” will once again be a winter franchise, and places it a day past the five year anniversary of the release of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in 2005.
Twentieth Century Fox recently partnered with Walden on the “Narnia” film series after Disney and Walden parted ways. It was an easy fit, since Walden Media and Fox have a partnership under the Fox Walden banner. Disney was the publicity, financial support and distributor for the first two “Narnia” films. The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe debuted in December 2005 and cumed $291.7 million domestically.
Prince Caspian was released last May to less spectacular results, cuming $141.2 million at the North American box office. Walden and Fox believe “Narnia” is better suited for a December release.
As of now, “Dawn Treader” has the 2010 date to itself. Let the countdown begin!
When we are watching The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, we notice that Edmund Pevensie betrays his brother and sisters because of this food: Turkish Delight. Actually, what kind of food is the Turkish Delight?
From Wikipedia, I found that Turkish Delight is from Istanbul. It was made from starch and sugar. Sometimes you can find the flavor of lemon, cinnamon, mint, rosewater, and sometimes it has characteristic pale pink color. It is soft, and like jelly, formed as cube which is covered with dust sugar. It is usually contains nuts like pistachio, hazelnut or walnuts.
Actually, I find difficulties to try Turkish Delight. I don’t know if it is same like in the movie, but I find it at Amazon. The name is Divan Turkish Delight with Pistachio.
Product Features:
- 800 gr (28 oz) box with Velvet covered exotic design
- Great as a gift item
- Turkish Delight as seen in Narnia
- Divan is the highest quality premium Turkish brand
- Life Magazine picked us as the sole distributors of Turkish candy products
Ingredients
Sugar, Water, Corn Starch, Acidity Regulator, Hazelnuts, Colorants
So, enjoy it…
I like Lucy Pevensie a lot. Maybe it is because I am a teacher so I like children a lot, I don’t know. That’s why when I see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian trailer, I was astonished by her beauty. Georgie Henley is the one who takes part as Lucy Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia produced by Walt Disney and Walden Media Production. For her part as Lucy Pevensie in the film series, Georgie won the 2005 Phoenix Film Critics Award for "Best Performance by a Youth in a Lead or Supporting Role - Female".
Georgie Henley was born in Ilkley, Yorkshire, England, UK on 9 July 1995. Her real name is Georgia Laura Henley. Her parents are Helen and Mike Henley. Georgie is the last child from three sisters. Her older sisters are Rachael Henley (who plays as older Lucy Pevensie in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) and Laura Henley. Georgie is attending Bradford Grammar School and a part of Ilkley Upstagers’ Theatre Group. In this local theatre group Georgie appeared in the stage play Babes in the Wood (January 27 to February 4, 2006).
One of Georgie’s ‘brothers’ in Narnia, Skandar ‘Edmund Pevensie’ Keynes stated that he loved Georgie. Like quoted in IMDB, Skandar says,
"When I first met Georgie, she was very eager to talk. Georgie is great. She’s small and hilarious. To laugh at. I mean with - to laugh with."
Georgie is also still an innocent girl like Lucy. The director of Narnia, Andrew Adamson, gave each children an iPod to show his gratefulness to the children for being in his movie. Georgie directly thanked him from her deepest heart and then when Andrew was out of earshot, Georgie faced her mother and asked, "What is it?"
Lucy Pevensie, the character played by Georgie, is one of the main characters which becomes symbol of a child’s innocence in believing Jesus. From all human who have entered Narni, Lucy is the one who really believes in Narnia. She is the first Pevensie who enters Narnia in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and she is also the one who sees Aslan first in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian.
Do you know? Lucy is given two gifts by the Father Christmas in the first Wlt Disney’s series The Chronicles of Narnia. The first one is the magical cordial which can heal instantly. The second is a dagger, which can be used to defend herself ‘at great need’.

Edmund Pevensie, who becomes the traitor in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, is played by the 16-years boy, Skandar Keynes. Being born as Skandar Amin Casper Keynes in London September 5, 1991, this boy has parents name Randal Keynes (a writer) and Zelfa Cecil Hourani. His family has wonderful record of great work. His grandfather, Cecil Fadlo Hourani, is a famous writer of Lebanese descent and the brother of Albert Hourani (a well known writer and professor). Skandar Keynes is still the great-great-great grandson of the famous biologist Charles Darwin through his father. His sister, Soumaya Keynes is also famous because her appearances in BBC Radio 4.
His education is got from Anna Scher Theatre School (2000 to 2005) and now he attends the all-boys City of London School. When Skandar and his family in Beirut, Lebanon in summer 2006, they had to flee because of the war.
Although C. S. Lewiss made The Chronicles of Narnia as the portrayal of Christianity, Skandar "Edmund Pevensie" Keynes is not a Christian. He has stated that he is an atheist, even Edmund holds the important symbol of the sinful man whose sins were washed away by Jesus Christ’s sacrificing on the cross.
In The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Edmund have changed from a black sheep in his family to a better person. The word Edmund is taken from Anglo-Saxon, Eadmund, which means wealth and protection. Unlike his character in previous series who is easily tempted by Turkish Delight, here Edmund is the one who wants to believe Lucy when she says that she has seen Aslan. Besides, he is also helping Caspian fighting King Miraz. In this series, Edmund becomes more cooperative and loyal. He even wants to be under Peter’s guidance, which is very different from the previous series.
If you like Skandar Keynes or Edmund Pevensie, here below I also find some things interesting to be collected.

Her real name is Anna Katherine Popplewell. She was born on 16 December 1988 to Andrew and Deborah Popplewell. Her father is a barrister and her mother is an immunologist. Anna has a Freddie Popplewell (Michael Darling in Peter Pan) and Lulu Popplewell (Love Actually and Love in a Cold Climate
. Her paternal grandfather Sir Oliver Popplewell was a former High Court judge.
Anna loves drama since she was six. At that time, she attended drama classes at Allsorts Drama School. She also has neighborhood which supports her career as an actress. Her ‘brother’ in The Chronicles of Narnia, Skandar Keynes (Edmund Pevensie), is her neighbor in her real live. Skandar lives around the corner near Anna’s house. Then, Jeremy Sumpter, who acted as Peter Pan along with Anna’s brother, is her friend in the real life. Actually, Anna was auditioned to play in Peter Pan with his brother as Wendy Darling, but she lost to Rachel Hurd-Wood.
About her character as Susan Pevenie in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion. the Witch, and the Wardrobe and The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Anna states that she could relate to Susan. They are same in some areas but they are different in another areas. She is very defensive about her character. If someone says that Susan is an outright cynic, she doesn’t agree with that. For her, there is a perfectly logical explanation about it. She also quotes,
“Each of the characters in ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’ has their own journey and Susan’s no different. Like Peter, she feels the obligation of looking after her younger brother and sister and it’s something that has made her grow up too fast - being saddled with all that responsibility. When she comes to Narnia, she thinks she’s too grown up to believe in it. But, through this adventure, she becomes more open to the idea of being in this magical land. By the end, it’s changed her for the better and she becomes unafraid of being a child. It’s a real journey for her.”

William Moseley has part as Peter Pevensie in Walt Disney Production The Chronicles of Narnia. See here for his photos.
William Moseley was born on April 27, 1987. Before he played as Peter Pevensie, he has played some movies. William’s parents are Peter Moseley and Julie Fleming. He is the eldest of three children. His siblings are Daisy (1992) and Ben (1989).
For making The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, William had to sacrifice his school in year 12. He had to repeat that year. But his performance is excellent, isn’t it?
He was also auditioned for Harry Potter cast, but he was unsuccessful to get the role.

1288 years later
It has been a year for the four Pevensies after they left Narnia. But then it is Susan’s trumpet which has called them to be back to the World of Fantasy. It turns out that it is Prince Caspian who calls them to help him and Narnia. Narnia has taken over by the bad King Miraz, who is Caspian’s own uncle.
After a while being in Narnia, Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy figure out that they have left Narnia for 1288 years, not a year.
Are you feeling confused? No problem. I hope this time line below can help you to comprehend the time difference between Narnia and our world (Click on the picture to enlarge)
Do you wondering what kind of trumpet Susan gets from Santa Claus in first movie? Well… More or less, it is like this.
A Glance about The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
Again, to refresh your memory before you watch The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, I would like to review about the story from first movie.
This movie is when we first meet the four Pevensie, which are Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy. Accidentally, when they are playing at Professor Kirke’s house, Lucy finds a wooden wardrobe. Through this wardrobe, Lucy can enter Narnia, The World of Fantasy. Lucy asks her brothers and sister to join her to Narnia. At first, Lucy’s siblings don’t believe her, that they can go to another world through wardrobe. Even Edmund, who then enters Narnia without Lucy’s acknowledgement, denies his entering when he is asked by Peter and Susan. He also meets Queen Jadis, The White Witch when he is looking for Lucy, and is offered Turkish Delight. Queen Jadis promises that she will give more Turkish Delight when Edmund can bring his brother and sisters to her.
Queen Jadis is not a good witch. At that time, Narnia is being cursed by her so Narnia has winter all the years. The Narnians (every creatures who live in Narnia) who are loyal to Aslan, the Great Lion, The true Ruler of Narnia, silently fight to defeat the White Witch and her followers.
Although Edmund is tempted to betray his siblings for Turkish Delight, but then the Pevensie joins the Narnians to fight Jadis.
Do they win? Or does Jadis win?
Read the book or hear it narrated in CD
by yourself.. Or you can watch it in DVD
or Blu-ray
Still waiting The Chronicles of Narnia: The Prince Caspian? I’ll refresh your mind by giving you clues who lives in Narnia.
Aslan
Aslan is The Great Lion, The King and The True Ruler of Narnia.
Human (like us, of course)
There are eleven human beings who have entered Narnia, four of them are Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter. They are called Sons of Adam and Daughters of Eve.
The Witches
One of them is Jadis, the White Witch who is great but have heart as cold as ice.
Dwarfs
There are two types of dwarfs in Narnia. They are The Red Dwarfs who are loyal to Aslan, and Black Dwarfs who are tend to be bad, like Nikabrik. I couldn’t find the bigger picture of Nikabrik, hopefully it is big enough for you to see him. Nikabrik was starred by Warwick Davis.
The Talking Animals
All animals in Narnia can talk. For example, is Patterwig, the squirrel who loves to chat but trustworthy, Mr. Beaver and Mrs. Beaver, the talking beavers who help Lucy, Susan, and Peter to meet Aslan in first movie.
Mythological Creatures
Other inhabitants of Narnia who form half-human, half-beast/animal. We can see faun (like Mr. Tumnus, a goat who has human head), centaurs (a race of creatures composed of part human and part horse), Minotaur (a creature that was part man and part bull), etc.
